Betty and the Bobs

Not necessarily a Worm-related thing but fun nonetheless. Last night Trevor and I did a couple songs with our friends Betty and the Bobs at Hugh’s Room in Toronto. BnB are not only some of the finest musicians we know but they are also some of the finest people we know. We’ve shared a few bills with them and we also try to crash their gigs whenever we’re in the same town. They play everything from old country classics, to The Beatles, to jazz standards to originals to Ozzy. It’s always fun for us to jump up and sing a song or two that we would only ever get to do at karaoke. It’s like having a live seven-piece karaoke machine. They are all so quick and so good that no song is a challenge for them. So last night Trevor did “Over the Rainbow” and “Delilah” and I did “Don’t Be Cruel” and “Fly Me to the Moon.” It was so much fun. We will work on Paradise by the Dashboard Light for a future gig somewhere down the road.

If you ever see that they are playing nearby, rush to see them and hopefully we’ll be nearby too because you haven’t lived until you’ve seen Mike McCormick croon Ringo Starr’s “You’re Sixteen.” Some people in Parry Sound know what I’m talking about.
